The Busan Metropolitan Council and the Ulaanbaatar City Council in Mongolia have pledged to enhance various fields of exchange.

According to the Busan Metropolitan Council, a delegation from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, has been actively participating in a short visit from the 7th to the 11th, totaling 4 nights and 5 days.

On the 8th, as the first agenda of their visit, the delegation visited the Ulaanbaatar City Council, where they met with Chairman Jantsan Batbayasgalan to sign a friendship exchange agreement between the two councils, committing to cooperation and exchange in various fields including administration, economy, culture, tourism, and environment.

The following day, on the 9th, the delegation held discussions with Ambassador Choi Jin-won, Ambassador of Mongolia to the Republic of Korea, to provide advice and investigate detailed action plans for friendship exchanges. They also visited KOTRA Ulaanbaatar Trade Office to hear about the status and challenges faced by Korean companies entering the Mongolian market.

During this meeting, Ambassador Choi Jin-won advised, "With the average lifespan of Mongolians being 65 for males and 75 for females, there is an urgent need for expanding health sector exchanges such as importing excellent medical products from Korea." Meanwhile, a representative from KOTRA Ulaanbaatar Trade Office mentioned, "Ulaanbaatar faces issues with urban infrastructure, sewage, transportation, and air pollution. In particular, there is a bid underway for the introduction of a subway system, requiring substantial support for Korean companies to enter."

Local Mongolian media outlets, including the Mongolian National Broadcasting (MBN), Eagle TV, and SBN, positively evaluated the delegation's visit to the Ulaanbaatar City Council, expecting it to strengthen the friendly cooperation between the two cities and contribute positively to their development and mutual benefits.

In particular, Chairman Ahn Seong-min appeared on Mongolian National Broadcasting (MBN) for an interview and appeared on private broadcasts such as 'Journey in the city,' introducing Busan's major industries, representative international events, and advanced public transportation services. He also discussed future cooperation with Ulaanbaatar in various aspects.

The delegation from the Busan Metropolitan Council will conclude their visit on the 10th with meetings with key officials in Ulaanbaatar and a field visit to Terelj National Park, and they are scheduled to return to Korea on the 11th.
