SEOUL, August 28 (AJP) - Min Hee-jin, a producer behind the K-pop sensation NewJeans, claimed on Wednesday that she was forced out of her position as CEO of ADOR without her consent. Min's abrupt removal was decided during a board meeting the previous day, where she was replaced by Kim Joo-young, HYBE’s internal director responsible for human resources. ADOR, an affiliate of HYBE, has seen rapid success under Min's leadership. In a statement, law firm Shin & Kim representing Min called her dismissal a "unilateral notice" made without any prior discussion. "It is a clear violation of the agreement reached at a shareholders' meeting in May and disregards a recent court ruling," it argued. Earlier this year, HYBE, which holds approximately 80 percent of ADOR's shares, attempted to remove Min amid internal disputes over the company's management rights. However, a local court sided with Min, granting an injunction that temporarily blocked the company's attempts to oust her. Min, 45, who has become a prominent figure in Korea's music industry shortly after starting her career with talent mill SM Entertainment in 2002, played a pivotal role in nurturing many K-pop stars like f(x), Girl's Generation and NCT.
